Welcome

Welcome to Welbourne and I hope that you enjoy your visit to our website. We are a school with a proven track record of success for our pupils with high expectations. Our results show that children, even those with low starting points, attain excellent results and we nurture ongoing success for all.

We are a friendly, caring school and through our school rules of ‘Ready, Respectful, Kind and Safe’ we aim to create a consistently calm environment, modelled to the highest standard by all staff, for our children. Our rules were co-created with our children and we believe their voice and rights are of great importance.  Welbourne is proud to be a UNICEF Rights Respecting School, received in recognition of how rights are taught and respected by all.

At Welbourne we believe that working in partnership with parents, carers and the wider community is key to giving our children the best possible chance in life. Strong links between home and school will help children to learn best.

Our Curriculum is rich in the delivery of basic skills as well as the mastery and application of knowledge. Our children are encouraged to explore, discover and question through a range of exciting learning opportunities both within and outside the classroom. Children benefit from a range of areas in the school that bring learning to life, such as the Edible Garden and our Forest School area. Our classrooms are well resourced, celebrate learning across the curriculum and emphasise the breadth of study that takes place. Please look at the curriculum pages on our website to find out more information.

I am very proud to be headteacher of such a richly diverse school community in which different languages, cultures and religions learn together in harmony. We aim to reflect the diversity of the community we serve through a strong and powerful community cohesion with high parental involvement across the school.

I hope you enjoy finding out more about our school by browsing our website. Visits are encouraged and welcomed: we would be delighted to show you around our wonderful school.

Mr Robert Lane
